The Egyptian Ewis mango (also known as “Awees” or “Owais”) is a premium variety prized for its smooth, non-fibrous flesh and intense tropical aroma. Small to medium in size with a distinctive curved shape, Ewis mangoes have a vibrant green skin that ripens with subtle yellow blushes, while the inside reveals deep golden-orange flesh that’s juicy, soft and intensely sweet. Grown in the fertile lands of the Nile Delta, these mangoes are picked at peak ripeness for maximum flavour.
Unlike some other mango varieties, the Ewis has minimal fibre, making it easy to eat fresh, blend into drinks, or add to savoury dishes. In Egypt, it’s often eaten chilled, sliced, or lightly mashed with a spoon straight from the skin. With their irresistible taste and fragrance, Ewis mangoes truly capture the essence of summer.
Instructions / Usage
Wash before use. For the best eating experience, allow the mango to ripen at room temperature until slightly soft to the touch and fragrant. Once ripe, slice away the cheeks from the stone and scoop out the flesh.

Ewis mangoes are typically in season from June to August.
Egyptians often enjoy them simply: sliced and sprinkled with a pinch of salt or chilled and served in juices.
